In Mexico she started her career in the role of Teresa in the Telenovela (1989-1991), as well as El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) where she was nominated for an Ariel Award. With appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) and Dogma (1999), she quickly made her mark in Hollywood. Hayek's character as Frida Kahlo painter in Frida (2002), a biographical feature she co-produced, earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[66. She also received her Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
